First Blog-How we came to be in Roseburg

Well I took the plunge and made a blog. We will see if I can keep up with all the accounts I have made in order to communicate.
An overview of where Darin and I are.
August of 2007 we packed up everything we owned in a trailer that my Grandfather put sides on and drove up to Douglas County. Quick stop at my folks house to park the trailer in their covered shop and on the Roseburg to bunk at Darin's parents house for a couple weeks. Darin was accepted to University of Oregon for their Graduate School of Music but was on a waiting list, school starts mid Sept so we should hear soon that he got in, I was waiting to hear back about a couple jobs that I interviewed for at Northwest Christian College. We settled into seeing friends and family and enjoying a chance to catch up with people, we made a trip north to visit Nate and Alanna and Grant and Katy and went to the Roseburg Alliance church camp out.
Sept comes and still no news from UofO. I heard that I didn't receive the position at NCC. At this point we are beginning to feel that maybe grad school isn't going to happen and our couple week stay with Darin's family turning into a month+. Darin and I began discussing what it would like to stay in Roseburg. The church here was looking for a Youth/Worship Pastor, Darin was really interested in the Worship portion but did not feel God's call to fulfill the Youth part. I began looking around casually for a job in the area. The day that UofO started classes came and no letter. It is official grad school is out. Do we stay in Roseburg or move to Eugene or somewhere else? After praying and considering we decided to look into staying in Roseburg. Darin put in his resume to the church for a PT Worship Pastor position and I began really looking for a FT job. Darin began picking up side jobs and staid pretty busy doing that. The church hired Darin and he started PT Oct 1 2007. We found a 2 bedroom apartment and got moved in between rain bursts. Mid Oct I was hired at Express Employment Professionals as a staffing consultant.
